Choreographed groups perform the FlashMOVE spontaneously in cities across Europe to promote the start of MOVE Week.

FlashMOVE is the name of the NowWeMOVE flash mob. A FlashMOVE is perfectly suited to promote European Week of Sport as the choreography unfolds gradually and passers-by can join in and be active.

It is an opportunity for the initiative to make a strong link with its European dimension. All countries involved in the FlashMOVE have the chance to show their European neighbours who they are. The European Union motto is “United in diversity”, so let’s show this diversity based on a solid common support: the FlashMOVE.

What is a MOVE Agent?

MOVE Agents are the stars of FlashMOVE. They make FlashMOVE happen. A MOVE. It is the MOVE Agent’s job to choose their event type and location, register it on the portal, gather the team they need to implement it, promote it in their communities and oversee it when it unfolds on the day(s).

Who can be a MOVE Agent?

A MOVE Agent can be any body, grassroots sport organisation, club, school, university, voluntary group, company, municipality/city or individual who organises a sport and physical activity event for FlashMOVE. The idea is to show that everybody can dance and is free to create their own moves. The FlashMOVE choreography allows participants to express themselves while having fun.

How does it work?

FlashMOVE is an open platform for anyone with an interest in being active or getting people active. During FlashMOVE, hundreds of events will take place simultaneously across Europe. We offer you to choose from 4 different music pieces and 4 choreographies to do the one you like the most. The size of the event can also vary – from small events organised by local groups, to bigger community events, to large-scale city events.

FlashMOVE does not have to showcase the perfect dance moves, theatrical masterpieces or acrobatic tricks and we don’t expect everyone (except for the leader) to do it perfectly – the whole point is to create a fun event – be it indoor or outdoor that creates attention and raises the discussion of physical inactivity crisis.
